Club Sandwich opened in late July 2006. It was put together as a concept deli with a larger goal to at some point franchise. You could compare the business goals to what Subway or Quizno's have accomplished. Never set your goals low. The "Concept" was to make a truly Delicious, Large, & Unique Club Sandwich from home roasted, smoked meats and fresh breads.
The traditional Club Sandwich is a true American Classic served on 3 slices of bread. Club Sandwich offers the customer a choice to build their own sandwich from their choices of meats, cheeses, breads, and condiments. All Sandwiches are made to order and wrapped in butcher paper and served in a picnic style food boat. We think that the packaging is a very important part of the purchase.
Not only do we roast our own Turkey, Roast Beef, & Ham, but we make our own homemade pickles, which go out with every order. We also make some signature sauces for a really unique addition to our sandwiches. These sauces and other items are described in our menus, which will be sent to you as well.
The original location for Club Sandwich is located in the borough of Sharpsburg Pa. Sharpsburg is a small town 5 minutes outside of Pittsburgh. It is mainly blue collar with some small white-collar businesses as well. The borough was hit hard by the flood of 2004 and is still hurting for new business and revenue. Although the town is not currently flourishing with business, it does have some outstanding restaurants and interesting stores. Bon A Terra is a restaurant where the Chef was rated the # 1 Chef in the city of Pittsburgh.
Sharpsburg is close enough to the city of Pittsburgh and major roadways in which people travel daily. The targeted customer is the worker who has limited time to eat and wants a really good sandwich for lunch and not afraid to spend 5 to 7 dollars. I think that the blue-collar market and small business man/women would enjoy our service. We do have somewhat of a New York look to out deli. It is a non smoking environment that offers daily specials, limited seating, XM radio, and wireless internet access.
Our original business is Strictly Business Catering, which was established in 1993. We have been located in Sharpsburg since that time. I have not personally got involved in very many local projects, town meetings, or activities. We have just recently moved our business to the main street of Sharpsburg. The retail venture of Club Sandwich is our first official try on this nature.
